Active Learners offers 2, 3, and 5 day preschool programs and has added a Full Day program, all for ages 2.9 -5 Preschool programs run between the hours of 9-11:30 and full day care is open between 7am and 6pm.
Typical Day Preschool Schedule
- Circle Time, welcome, days expectations
- Free-choice play, projects, self-serve snack, small group activities
- Clean up
- Rest (3-5 minutes)
- Circle Time, stories, finger-plays and recap of the day
- Outdoor Play
- Dismissal
Preschool Hours
- 2, 3 and 5 day sessions: 9:00-11:30
- Full day programs: 7:00am - 6:00pm
Typical Full Day Schedule
- Arrival, free choice, games
- Preschool schedule begins at 9am
- Morning circle, Welcome song, Finger plays, planning day’s activities
- Choice Play, small group activities, project, snack (provided by the school)
- Clean up
- Story time, discussions/recap of the day’s events
- Coats, outdoor play
- Preschool dismissal at 11:30
- Lunch – brought from home with a drink
- Nap time/quiet time
- Outdoor play weather permitting/indoor gross motor game
- Snack time-provided by school
- Story time and additional one-on-one time
- Project or group game
Active Learner's also includes monthly music lessons for the children Rachel Pcolka Daly, MA in Music Education from Columbia University, visits each class monthly, for a forty-five minute class of music and fun.
